Crafts are the true force of Abruzzo. Even though in the last few years, large firms have appeared in the region, as well as small firms have grown to reach industrial levels, the network of artisan firms present in Abruzzo in all sectors is rich and consolidated. In any area of Abruzzo it is possible to find production zones of typical products that thanks to a diffuse net of small artisan firms, have been able to find niche markets in Italy and abroad. Depending on the geographic zone, Abruzzo offers a different forms of crafts: from the wrought iron works of Guardiagrele to the ceramics of Castelli, to the lace of Scanno. World famous products include the confetti of Sulmona, the torroni of Aquila, the Parrozzo of Pescara, and the gold jewellery of the interior zones. All a world of styles and tastes that are handed down from generation to generation. Even though over the last few years, technology has entered into the artisan shops, tradition has been rigorously preserved and passed down in such a way that has not altered the quality of products through time.
