The Sangro Valley Industrial Consortium, which
is the youngest in the province, was formed during the mid1970s, and is
involved in three industrial areas: those of Atessa, Lanciano and Casoli.
Here too, the complex covers a wide area, and has brought about an inversion
of trends in both the economy and the population growth, as well as
boosting local argriculture thanks to the effects of income redistribution
through industrialisation.
Its considerable industrial initiative with
large scale manufacturing, employment and use of technology, its constant
endeavours to sustain local enterprise and consequently encourage subsidiary
production and growth and its rapid and thorough infrastructuring of
the area in terms of road and rail links, energy and water supply and
sewage treatment, all make the Sangro Valley a prime example of modern
industrial estate development for the whole of southern Italy.
