ENVIRONMENTAL
RELATIONS: CONSERVATION
AND DEVELOPMENT
In the face of increasing industrialisation,
the province of Chieti has largely been able to preserve the variety
and unspoilt environmental quality of its territory – a heritage
of enormous value, not only as a tourist resource, but as a guarantee
of high quality of life for present and future generations.
Manufacturing activity in th province of
Chieti is distributed widely over the whole area, but basically
much of the initiative and enterprise can be traced to three large
Industrial Development Consortiums which from the early 60's to
the late 70's stimulated, promoted and coordinated the province’s
great industrial leap forward.These are the consortiums of the Pescara
Valley, the Sangro Valley and the Vasto area.
